As a blogger who is finally plunging into the world of Twitter, the new Tweet My Blog plugin for WordPress is something that just may be what I’ve wanted for a while now.
Tweet My Blog pings your Twitter account when you’ve updated your blog, letting those who are following you know that you’ve added something new. It also has a widget you can add to your blog which displays your latest tweets (take a look over there on the right).
I’m testing it right now with this post… let’s see how it goes! OK… hitting publish now!
[Update 7/19/08 10:23 PDT]
I’ve decided to remove the plugin, for one main reason:
The uncloseable frame that it includes in the pages that are tweeted. I’m all about promoting, but without the ability to close the frame, even when moving to another site, too much control is taken away from the user.
The plugin does do exactly what it says it will do, installed easily, and was easily configurable. Overall, it’s a great effort. I may consider reinstalling if the frame (or at at least the ability for the user to close it) is removed.

Hmmm… that’s an interesting banner up there from the Twitter link. It’s part of the TweetMyBlog referral program. Not sure how I feel about it yet.
[...] It looks like Alex King’s Twitter Tools plugin is more of what I’m looking for than the last one I tried. [...]
