Since it seems like everyone and their mother has a top WordPress plugins post. I wanted to have one too!
Here they are - my picks for the absolute best of the best. One of the ironic things about this is that I don’t have all of them installed on this particular blog yet… I’m still getting it up to speed.
- Add Meta Tags - automatically included search engine friendly meta tags into your WordPress pages
- Akismet - spam eater
- Contact Form 7 - multiple contact forms, smooth AJAX based forms
- FeedBurner FeedSmith - keep your feed in one place
- Google XML Sitemaps - automatically build and rebuild a sitemap on every site change, and let Google, Yahoo, Ask, and MSN know about it
- Popularity Contest - track the most popular posts on your site. Also works with Google XML Sitemaps to determine a post’s importance
- Samsarin PHP Widget - use PHP in your sidebar widgets
- Subscribe To Comments - help your visitors keep up with the conversation by allowing them to be notified by email when a new comment is posted to an article
- What Would Seth Godin Do - be sure that new visitors are aware of your RSS subscription options
- WordPress.com Stats - simple to understand stats specifically designed with the blogger in mind
- WordPress Database Backup - have regular backups of your blog emailed to you
- WP 2.3 Related Posts - automatically let visitors know about other posts they may be interested in reading
- WP AJAX Edit Comments - allow your commentors to edit their own comments… they don’t have to be embarased about those mispelings anymore
- ShareThis - allow users to submit your sites to StumbleUpon, Facebook, Digg, and more, or even email your posts to their contacts
Are there any that I don’t have on here that you particularly like?
